Since my mother still doesn't agree with any of my food desert postings, I thought of this comic.

so true. I guess what we are trying to do is take a complicated issue like obesity, that has many underlying causes and attempt to come up with one answer. Food deserts become something we can "fix" by saying "more available healthy food for all" It makes life so much simpler. I like solving problems.
